These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User" or "you") and the Aurora development team ("we," "us," or "our") regarding your use of the Aurora media center application ("Application" or "Service"). By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Application, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Application.

2. Service Description

Aurora is a desktop media center application that serves as a content aggregation platform. The Application provides:

  • A platform for organizing and accessing media content
  • Support for third-party addons compatible with the Stremio protocol
  • Integrated and external video player support
  • Personal media library management features

3. User Obligations and Responsibilities

As a user of the Application, you acknowledge and agree that you are solely responsible for:

  • Complying with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction
  • Respecting intellectual property rights and copyright laws
  • The content you access through third-party addons
  • Ensuring you have proper rights to any content you stream or download

4. Third-Party Content and Add-ons

The Application may provide access to third-party content through user-installed add-ons. Aurora does not host, control, endorse, or assume responsibility for any third-party content, services, or add-ons. We expressly disclaim liability for:

  • The legality, accuracy, or quality of third-party content
  • The availability or functionality of third-party addons
  • Any damages resulting from the use of third-party addons or content

5. Prohibited Activities and Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Application for any unlawful or prohibited purpose. Specifically, you may not:

  • Access or distribute copyrighted content without proper authorization
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Distribute malware, viruses, or other harmful software
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Application

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

THE APPLICATION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES AND SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APPLICATION.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the Application immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Application will cease immediately. All provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.

10. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion. By continuing to access or use our Application after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms will be brought exclusively in the federal or state courts located in the United States, and you hereby consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of such courts.
