Aurora is designed with privacy in mind. We currently do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. All user data remains on your local device. If optional crash reporting is implemented in the future, it would collect only:

• Crash reports and debug information (optional, disabled by default)
• Application performance statistics (optional, disabled by default)

All user data (settings, preferences, media library) is stored locally on your device and never transmitted to external servers.

2. Use of Information

As Aurora currently does not collect any information, no data is used or processed. If optional crash reporting is implemented in the future, any collected data would be used solely to:

• Debug and resolve technical issues
• Improve application stability and performance

3. Data Storage and Security

Aurora employs a local-first approach to data storage. All user data is stored exclusively on your device using encrypted local storage:

• All data stored locally in encrypted SQLite database
• Secure communication protocols for external API calls (metadata only)
• No transmission of personal data to external servers
• Optional crash reporting (disabled by default)

4. Third-Party Services

Aurora acts as an aggregator and may interact with third-party services for:

• Metadata services (TMDB, TVDB, etc.) for movie and TV show information
• Addon services for content discovery and streaming (user-installed)
• Optional Discord RPC integration (if enabled by user)

Aurora does not host content and only aggregates data from third-party services. These services have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their data practices.

5. Information Sharing and Disclosure

Aurora does not share, sell, trade, or otherwise transfer any personal information to third parties. We do not collect personal information to share. In the event that optional crash reporting is implemented, we would not share such data except in the following limited circumstances:

• When required by law or legal process
• To protect our rights, property, or safety
• With your explicit consent

6. User Rights and Data Control

As Aurora does not collect personal information, you maintain complete control over your data. You have the right to:

• Access and review your personal data stored by the Application
• Delete your personal data and reset the Application
• Opt out of optional data collection features
• Export your data for backup purposes

7. Children's Privacy

Aurora is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

8. International Users

If you are using Aurora from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located.

9. Privacy Policy Updates

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the Application and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Application after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
